Warren Oates (July 5, 1928 – April 3, 1982) was an American actor best known for his roles in the Sam Peckinpah films Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia and The Wild Bunch. One of my favorite actors of all time for his portrayals of desperate, downtrodden characters who were out of their time and past their prime.

His performance in Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia is one of the best I've ever seen. Easily in my top ten at least, if not top five:
